Sophia Hurd (Mosley) was born February 11, 1941 in Hyden, Kentucky and passed away at home in Cincinnati, Ohio on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, John Hurd, her parents, Granville and Nellie (Fields) Mosley, and her two sisters, Verena Lakes and Helen Abney. She was also preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Ronnie Lakes, Everett Bullock, Ken Abney, and Gene Noe and her granddaughter Christina Gayhart and son-in-law David Gayhart, Sr.

She is survived by her four children, Theresa (Terri) Noe (Kenny), Tim Hurd (Kendra), Pamela (Peanut) Gayhart, and Kimberly Pinhey (Kaye). She is also survived by her siblings Audrey Noe (Paul), Jean Noe, Ronald Mosley (Mary), Carol Bullock, and Ralph Mosley (Kathy). She leaves behind grandchildren and great grandchildren: Charles Noe (Carley and Skot), Jessica Mollmann (Andy), John Hurd II (Ashleigh & Teghan), David Gayhart (Julie, Remi, & Mia), Michael Gayhart (Dani, Ava, Lilah, & Henri), Brandie Gayhart (Dominic Porter), Laura Gayhart (Shaun & Rylee Linville), Leigh Pinhey Maguire (Michael, Michael II, Savannah, & Declan), and Caitlin Pinhey. She also leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Sophia was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Cincinnati and worked most of her life as a waitress. She was a giving person who tried to take care of everyone. In her last couple of years Parkinson's disease robbed her of her quality of life. However, she always loved her family fiercely and we all love her. She will be missed. No flowers are necessary.
