Shirley Ann Warner was born on February 7th 1939, in Ripley, Ohio to Ernest and Margaret (Greene) Travis. She moved to Cincinnati at an early age with her siblings Ernest and Larry Travis and sisters Sarah Bennett and Roberta Lang. She accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and was baptized at Wehrman Avenue Christian Church.
Shirley attended Cincinnati Public Schools. She later served as a homemaker and a respected member of her community where she worked towards the betterment of her family and household. She raised 7 children during a busy season of life and instilled firmness and kindness as well as resilience and tenacity.
She enjoyed spending quality time with her family, life-long friends as well as new and old acquaintances. And on any given day you could find her sitting on her porch being entertained and would welcome any and everyone who had time to reminisce alongside her.
She is preceded in death by her husband James Warner Sr., son Nathan Travis and daughters Jamie Warner and Beulah Marie Warner.
Honoring her memory, she leaves behind daughters Marcia Brown (Ernist), Cynthia Travis, Ruth McHaney and Tracey Thompson (Rick), 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Whether you knew her as Mama, Momma Shirley or Grandma, find comfort in the moments that were shared that are so strong they cause you to smile and find your peace to press on.
Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Friday, November 17, 2023, at the Walker Funeral Home - Mt. Healthy, 7272 Hamilton Avenue , Mt. Healthy (45231). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am.
Interment will follow at Crown Hill Memorial Park.
