Shirley Mae Harris was born December 25, 1943 to Annie Gland Harris and James Harris She was raised by her grandmother Mary Peoples, and grandfather Lem Peoples. Shirley attended Cincinnati Public School and graduated from Withrow High School, briefly attended Central Tech.
Shirley spent the majority of her adult life being a devoted and caring mother. She raised 8 children which was the focus of life.
She was a very strong, independent woman everyone that met her, knew she was very out-spoken, at any time she would express what was on her mind.
Her doors were always open for family and friends. She enjoyed cooking for her children, being with her grandchildren also listening to music. She enjoyed drinking her Wiedemann beer back in the days with her family and friends.
Shirley leaves behind a lifetime of memories for her family to cherish.
She is preceded in death by her parents Annie Harris and James Harris, also 3 of her children Alicia Harris, Douglas (Kym) Harris, and Shirley (Missy) Killings, also life-long companion Isreal Killing Jr, and all her siblings James (Jonna) Harris, Delores Tucker, Ann Harris, Lela Harris, Peggy Jordan, and Charles Harris.
Shirley is survived by her sons: Clarence Harris, Joseph Harris, Mark Harris, Jason (Nikki) Harris, Johnathan Killings, and Micheal Killing & a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati (45206). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy she leaves behind.
