November 15, 1954 – May 30, 2025
Shirley Ann Coleman, the fifth child of the late James Farmer Sr. and Geneva Sorrells Farmer, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 30, 2025, at the age of 70. She was called home to be with the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Coleman Sr.; her son, Timothy Brown; her brothers, Gary and Terry Farmer; and her sister, Sheila Farmer.
Shirley graduated from Gilford School and later worked at ViaQuest for several years until she became fully disabled.
Shirley never met a stranger. Her warm smile, unforgettable voice, and gift of conversation left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was especially fond of watching YouTube and spent many hours enjoying past and present church services.
Shirley was one of nine siblings. She is survived by her brothers, James Farmer Jr. and Stanley Farmer, and her sisters, Karen Farmer-Godfrey (Richard), Eva Farmer, and Kim Farmer.
She leaves behind cherished memories for her sons: Robert Coleman Jr., Michael Coleman, and David Coleman; her grandchildren: Hope, Brandon, Alana, Xavier, Mykiara, Michael Jr., Lasheara, David, Shekinyah, Zyra, Devren, and Dearius; and her great-grandchildren: Ka'Zyla and Rahzi.
She is also fondly remembered by her aunts, Jackie and Marsha; her dear friends, Terry Plummer and Carolyn Fitzpatrick; and a host of additional relatives, friends, and loved ones.
Visitation is from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm, on Friday, June 13, 2025, at the Forever Praise Ministries, 14 Sunnybrook Drive, Cincinnati (45237). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 1:00 pm. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy she leaves behind.
She will be laid to rest at Vine Street Hill Cemetery.
