Shirley Ann Chambers, born October 14, 1959, in Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away leaving a legacy of love and family, her parents the late John and Silvia Lee Chambers.

Shirley was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, loyal friend and compassionate caregiver. She was preceded in death by her son Anthony Chambers and her grandmother Augusta Collier.

Her memory will be forever held by her daughter, Terri Lynn Chambers; granddaughter, Terionna Marie Chambers; and great-grandchildren, De'Ore, Day'Onna, and the newest addition baby Christian. Shirley also leaves behind six surviving siblings across her maternal and paternal families, while being reunited in spirit with four brothers who preceded her in death. She will also be profoundly missed by her best friend, who she considered more like a sister.

A proud 1978 graduate of Hughes High School, Shirley furthered her education at Southern State Community College. She discovered her true calling early in life: caring for others. This passion led her to a dedicated 31-year career at the Daniel Drake Center, where she remained a steadfast presence until its closure in 2025. During her long tenure, she touched countless lives, including many of those she knew personally.

Shirley was a true beacon of light—vibrant, funny, and always there for anyone in need.

She was a devoted Christian, she found her greatest strength and community at her home church, New Jerusalem Baptist Church, where she was a steadfast member. Outside of her ministry, Shirley cherished every moment spent with her family. She also found joy and friendship at the local Bingo Hall, where her quick wit and welcome face will be deeply missed. While we mourn her passing, we take comfort in knowing she has been called home to her well-deserved eternal rest.
