Shirley Mae Steffen June 7, 1943 – March 21, 2025

Shirley Steffen, 81, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian "Bucky" Steffen.

If you knew Shirley, you knew someone who was lively and generous. She had style, a great sense of humor, and could deliver a good laugh when you least expected it.  She loved the racetrack, baseball, and had an eye for fashion and design—everything she did had a touch of her personality. She was a beloved friend, always up for a good conversation and showing up for the people she loved. Above all, she was a proud grandmother to her three grandkids who meant the world to her.

Shirley wasn't one for grand speeches, but if she taught us anything, it was to enjoy life, surround yourself with good people, and never take things too seriously. She will be missed more than words can say, but her spirit lives on in every laugh, every story, and every memory we hold close.

In her honor, donations can be made to St. Elizabeth Hospice, Edgewood, KY.  The family has chosen to forgo a traditional funeral service and has chosen to honor Shirley in a more personal way.  The family will have a memorial service in the Spring.  Details will be shared once arrangements are finalized.
