She was the oldest of five children born to the late Travus Wright, Sr. of Athens, Georgia and Gladys L. Brantley of Cedar Springs, Georgia. Shirley had a knack for shorthand and typing, which furthered her career as a secretary for the University of Cincinnati, Procter & Gamble, and Hamilton County Job & Family Services. She also had a love for food and cooking, which led to a friendly rivalry with her youngest sister Diane (also, over a good cook) over who would host holiday dinners. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Carolyn Wright and Diane Wright. Shirley is survived in death by one son; Michael C. Wright, and two brothers; Travus Wright Jr. and Gregory T. Wright. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Carolyn Wright and Diane Wright. Always concerned with the welfare of those less fortunate, Shirley gave generously to various organizations and ministries. Visitation is from 9:00 am until 10:00 am, on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at the Gaines United Methodist Church, 5707 Madison Road, Cincinnati (45227). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery, 3117 Victory Parkway, Cincinnati, Ohio 45206.
