Shelia
Mallory
December 10, 1961 – April 21, 2026
Shelia was born December 10, 1961, in Cincinnati, OH to Mildred Higgins. Mildred was called to rest at an early age, where she entrusted Shelia’s bonus dad Johnnie “Melvin” McDougal to gently guide her into adulthood.
Although Mildred instilled valuable life lessons of GOD, Family first, and Responsibility are just a few, she was left with an unimaginable void in her heart.
Shelia was a proud member of Hugehs” Big Red” High School, Class of 1980 where she found lifetime friends.
Shelia was proud to work as a deputy sheriff at the Hamilton County Justice Center until illness caused her to retire. When people asked her was, she scared to work in the jail, her response was always “no one’s coming there but family and friends.”
Shelia was a proud mother of the three children, Kyauna, Kendell and Tony. And a proud Nana to six granddaughters, Destyne, DeJanahe, Kendall, Michiko, and Kaylee and Anjali. She was also a proud sibling of three sisters, Sharon Lewis, Elizabeth Hafford, and Melverine Mace who proceeded her in death.
Shelia was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church, under the leadership of Damon Lynch III. She proudly started the NPBC Sign Language Ministry, which she loved being a part of, even leading from home through sickness.
