Shawn McDaniel, Sr. was born on August 26, 1979,  in Detroit, Michigan the son of Warren K. McDaniel, Sr. and Stephanie A. Peterson-McDaniel.  Then later, Stephanie A. Peterson-McDaniel joined in the union of marriage to Tyrone Lyles of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Tyrone became Shawn's new step-father.  Shawn departed this life on July 1, 2024 at the age of 44 into the arms of the Lord.

Shawn completed his GED and attended Ohio Media School.  He accomplished his life long dream of becoming an author by publishing three books. Shawn was an active employee with Home Depot, Inc. of Monroe, Ohio, first with his position as a Forklift Operator and then later as a Home Depot Security Guard since May 19, 2020.

He was preceded in death by his father, Warren K. McDaniel, Sr.; his sister, Kendra R. Lyles; his son, Shawn McDaniel, Jr.

Shawn enjoyed being around his family and close friends while doing his favorite thing of all time, listening to music.  His presence will truly be missed and we love him dearly.

He leaves to mourn his wife, Sharon Zellars; his surviving son, Stephaun Rahvae McDaniel (Natalie Vance Turnbow); his mother, Stephanie A. Peterson-McDaniel; siblings, Tyra Nicole Lyles-Whitehead (Michael Whitehead), Warren K. McDaniel, Jr. Demetrius Derek Lyles; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
