Obituary

ShaRon Ray Wilson (Big Sis), was born August 15, 1953 in Delaware, Ohio to Nathan E. Wilson, Sr. and Mary Wilson. She departed this earth in Cincinnati, OH on August 11, 2013, after her battle with colon cancer. ShaRon graduated from Delaware Hayes High School, where she was a member of the band and was one of the first African American Majorettes. She went on to attend Kent State University where she became a proud Soror of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree at The Cincinnaati Instiutute while living in her new home Cincinnati, Ohio. A accomplished and dedicated employee, ShaRon worked as a Financial Planner with Met Life Resources for 32 years. She received Golden Circle and the Million Dollar Roundtable Awards for the outstanding work she did with Met Life. A dedicated advocate in political circles throughout her youth and adulthood. ShaRon enjoyed the work she did, taking leadership roles throughout her political journey. She was a active member of Hamilton County Democratic Party, serving as the co-chair for the Cincinnati Democratic Committee (CDC), Ward Chair and Precinct Executive. She worked diligently as a board member of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Coalition, the Cincinnati NAACP Scholarship Committee, and the Rev. Dr. Fred Shuttlesworth Chapter of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. She enjoyed, traveling internationally and most of all spending time with her family. ShaRon is survived by her mother Mary L. Wilson, Sisters, Bobbi Jo Wilson and Delilah Wilson, Brothers, Nathan, Carthel, Bruce Wilson, Clifford and Ronald Clemons. Nieces; Tryionna Price, Quinn Lipscomb, Nadia Harris, Carleisha Gardner, Shakeira Wesley and Alyssa Sha'Ron Wilson, Nephews; Nathan Lamar Harris, Norman Herrell, Arlen Herrell, To'Real Crawford, and Nathan P. Wilson and a host of great nieces, nephews and cousins. ShaRon was preceded in death by her beloved Father and Sister, Nathan E. Wilson, Sr. and April Harris. The family would like to thank special friends Edith Thrower, Bernadette Watson and Sharon Watts for their comfort and support. Funeral Services will be conducted at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, August 15 at Inspirational Baptist Church, 11450 Sebring Ave., Forest Park (45240). Arrangements entrusted to Walker Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials may be made to any Fifth Third Bank to the Sharon Ray Wilson Memorial Fund.
