Obituary
Sharon L. Slocum, age 60 departed this life February 22, 2014 at the University Hospital. She was born April 1, 1953 to Eugene and Cornelia Slocum. She was a graduate of Hughes High School, class of 1972. She worked at Keichler for 18 years until she became ill in 1993. Sharon accepted Christ at an early age. Rena was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Sr. and Cornelia Slocum; nephew, Larry Scott Slocum; sister-in-law, Lisa Ann Benton-Slocum and her devoted companion, Bobby Stone. She leaves to cherish her memory: a daughter, Tanya Slocum; five grandchildren, Tamika, Tamera, Tieshawn, Tiara and Tatiana Slocum; five sisters, Arzonia (James) Thornton, Karen (Albert) Lathan, Deborah (Shane) Kincaid, Kimberly and Yavonne Slocum; four brothers, Eugene Jr. Derrick, Harry Sr. and Eddy (Dnitra) Slocum; devoted friends, Deborah Phelps and Johanna Johnson, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
