IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Shannon Denise
Calhoun
November 12, 1970 – May 1, 2025
Shannon Calhoun, beloved daughter of Tommie and Sally Calhoun, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength. Born on November 12, 1970, Shannon brought light and warmth into the lives of all who knew her.
Shannon was a proud graduate of Hughes High School, where she excelled both academically and athletically. During her time there, she showcased her talent and determination as a standout athlete, competing in basketball and track.
After high school, Shannon went on to graduate from Cincinnati State and pursued a meaningful career as an Anesthesiologist Technician at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. She dedicated 21 years to the care, comfort, and healing of countless patients. Her gentle spirit, steady hands, and compassionate heart were evident in every aspect of her professional and personal life.
Shannon also played a devoted role in helping care for her parents throughout the years, showing constant love, respect, and commitment to her family. Though she had no children of her own, Shannon embraced the role of second mother and guiding light to her cherished nieces and nephews. She is lovingly remembered by her sister Linda Calhoun and her nieces and nephews Bear, Deasia, Jasmine, Raven, Areon, Deon, Tay, Koraan, and Greyson. She also shared a special bond with her brother's children Jr: Antaricco, Simeon, Pooh, Dyvi, Noaw, Tekoah, and Tyrone all of whom she loved deeply.
Shannon was also a devoted godmother to her beloved goddaughters Shamela Lindsay-Byrd, Jamie Lindsay, Alexis Lindsay, and LaKesha Denkins each of whom held a special place in her heart.
She had a deep love for music and found joy in the sounds of Tupac and New Edition, often filling her home with the rhythms that brought her comfort and peace.
Shannon's presence will be sorely missed, but her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her. She was truly one of a kind — a daughter, sister, aunt, godmother, and friend whose love knew no bounds.
She now rejoins her beloved brother, Jr.; her dear aunt Betty; and her best friend Nycee Reynolds in eternal rest.
