Sarah Copeland Bowers, 91, peacefully passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2016, at her home in CIncinnati, Ohio. She was born on January 7, 1925, in Hamilton, Georgia, to Isiah Copeland and Susiana Miller Copeland. She married the love of her life Albert "Al" Bowers in Florida 1946. Sarah worked as a caregiver early on in life. After retiring she was able to focus on her main passion which was anyone in need, especially children. For over 60 years, Sarah was particularly known for her dedication and faithfulness, first and foremost to God, her husband, her children, her family, her neighbors, and friends, her church home; James Temple Church of God In Christ, and anyone else who came across her path. Sarah Bowers was the true definition of a woman of God. She is survived by her sister Mary Copeland Blackmon, sisters-in-law, Mozella Lewis (Elder Calvin Lewis) Edith Bowers. Children; Yvonne McClinton Phelps, Diane Smith, Gwendolyn Gentry, Vertis Phelps Sr. (Denise) Jessie Carden (Diane), Kathy Thomas, Linda Smith, Alex Boykin (Mai). Grandchildren; Tawanna Hixon, Stephanie Powell (Ivory), Todd McClinton Jr., Vertis Phelps Jr., Tia McClinton, Denzel Phelps, Tanya Hopkins, Tracy Gentry, and Ronald Hixon Jr.. Great-grandchildren; Nazariah Lowery, Dearius Phelps, Nehemiah Lowery, Mychael Howard Jr., Diovion Phelps, Todd McClinton III., Talaya Wilson, Dior Phelps, and a host of other grand and great-grandchildren children, nieces and nephews that will forever cherish the love she gave and her iconic memory. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Isiah Copeland, her husband Albert Bowers, siblings James Copeland, Isiah Copeland Jr., Genola Copeland Worrell, Annie Copeland Hixson, Johnny Copelnad, Weda "Lousie" Copeland Collins, and Mattie Copeland Walker. Grandson; Marty Gentry Visitation is from 9:00 a. m. until 11:00 a.m.on Saturday, September 24, 2016, at the James Temple Church of God in Christ, 1116 Lincoln Avenue, Cincinnati (45206). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow Vine Street Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio.
