IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sallie Sue
(Watkins) Calhoun
November 10, 1933 – July 18, 2025
Sallie Calhoun, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2025, at the age of 91. She was born on November 10, 1933, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Sally and Joseph Baskins.
Sallie was the heart and soul of her family a sweet, caring, and loving woman whose kindness and strength touched the lives of everyone around her. She had a passion for shopping and cherished spending time with her loved ones. Her nurturing spirit extended to every part of her life, from raising her children to lovingly caring for her grandchildren. She also worked as a dedicated housekeeper and was fondly known as "Nana" for her work with children, always bringing a warm and gentle presence wherever she went.
Sallie was married to Tommie Calhoun, and together, they built a life centered on love, family, and faith. A devoted member of New Prospect Baptist Church, her unwavering faith guided her every step and was the cornerstone of her daily life.
Her children Jr., Linda, and Shannon Calhoun were the focus of her love, and she poured herself into raising them with patience, care, and devotion. Sallie also lovingly helped raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, continuing to give the best of herself to those she held dear.
She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Linda; her grandchildren from her late son Jr. Antaricco, Simeon, Pooh, Dyvi, Noaw, Tekoah, and Tyrone; her grandchildren Deon and Octavia ; and her great-grandchildren Deasia, Raven, Areon, Deon, Koraan, and Greyson. She is also survived by her sister Dorothy Watkins' children—Pat, Teresa, and Vanessa Watkins—and her sister Betty's children—Felisha, David Johns, Tammy M., and Delena.
Sallie now rejoins in eternal rest her loving mother Sally, her dear sisters Dorothy and Betty, and her precious children, Jr. and Shannon Calhoun. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, faith, and devotion will never be forgotten.
