Ruthie B. Thompson, age 67, entered eternal rest on July 29, 2013. Born March 4, 1946, in Pike County, Alabama, to the late Harrison and Mary Wilson Blackmon. She was a 1964 graduate of Central High School in Cincinnati. She worked as a System Analyst for AT&T for over twenty years. Ruthie enjoyed her garden, collecting dolls, visiting casinos, cooking and visiting with her grandchildren. She leaves to cherish her memory: son, Eric Troy Blackmon, Sr., of Phoenix, Arizona; grandchildren, Jakhaari Kiaana Blackmon, Vashti Blackmon, Kelia Blackmon, Eric Blackmon, Jr., Troy Blackmon; brothers and sisters and their spouses: Robbie Berry Fisher, James Hubert & Bertha Berry, Velma Blackmon Jackson, R.B. (Arvie) & Deborah Blackmon, Harrison & Yvonne Blackmon, Melvin Artis Blackmon. A host of nieces and nephews and the following special friends: Gloria Swope Reid, Janis Mallory, Vera Clements. Memorial Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 3 at St. Mark AME Zion Church, 9208 Daly Road, Cincinnati (45231) with family gathering at 10:30 a.m. Arrangements by Walker Funeral Home.
