Ruth Catherine Black, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully passed away on January 18, 2026. She was born on July 25, 1949, in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she spent much of her life surrounded by family and love.

Ruth was known for her quiet strength, caring heart, and unwavering devotion to her family. She worked faithfully for many years at Formica before retiring, taking great pride in providing for, nurturing, and supporting those she loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde C. Stewart and Willie G. Ruffin, and her brothers, Anthony Stewart, Fredrick Stewart, and Harold Stewart.

Ruth leaves to cherish her memory her devoted daughter, Delgreta Black; her grandchildren, Jamilah Black and Sylvester Johnson III; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Tyler Cunningham, Tyleigh Cunningham, Asher Johnson, and Sevyn Johnson. She is also survived by her sisters, Debbie Collins and Vonceil Stewart-Kai (Justice Dodoo); her brother, Robert Stewart Sr.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Ruth Catherine Black will be remembered for her unconditional love, gentle spirit, and the lasting legacy of family she leaves behind.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on  Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the Walker Funeral Home - Mt. Healthy, 7272 Hamilton Avenue , Mt. Healthy  (45231).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation,  beginning at 11:00 am. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy she leaves behind.
