Obituary

Russell Glenn Dozier Sr., was born November 15, 1949, to the late Samuel and Audrey (nee Lee) Dozier. He unexpectedly departed this life too soon on March 17, 2013, at his home in Cincinnati, Ohio. Russell was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was educated in the Cincinnati Public School System and graduated from Withrow High School. He later attended St. Leo College. He began his career in the United States Army in 1968. He served in many countries, including two tours of duty in Vietnam. He received the Meritorious service Medal (1 Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Commendation Medal (3rdAward), Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign medal, Vietnam Service Medal – Silver Star and Bronze Star, Driver and Mechanic Badge. In recognition of his exemplary service, Russell was honored for vehicle maintenance and Warrant Officer Leadership. In 1988, after more than 20 years of service, he retired at the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 3. He held other jobs after his military career. His last place of employments was Miami Valley International Trucks in Cincinnati, Ohio. Russell was happy with the simpler things in life. He was a man of honor and integrity who strived to do the right thing. He was happiest spending time with family or enjoying a marathon of his favorite James Bond 007 movies. Not only was he a mechanic in the U. S. Army, but even at a young age he was a gifted mechanic. He accepted people for where they were in their lives. He counted his children among his greatest sources of pride. In 1997, he was joined in Holy Matrimony with Robin Ringer. They were constant companions who shared everything. Robin was by his die on his final day on this earth. Their love will endure as she keeps his memory and as he watches over her. Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Audrey, and brothers, Ronald and Eugene. Remaining to cherish his memory are his children, Renee Dozier, Raniele Dozier Jago and Russell Dozier II, and Donna Dozier Carnegie from the marital union with Phyllis Dozier Garner. They share this ohonor with Cory Ringer from his martial union with his wife Robin. Russell is survived by his sisters, Nancy and Sandra, six grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Russell will be forever in the hearts of many.
