IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rufus
Mcghee
July 16, 1972 – February 27, 2022
Rufus McGhee was born on July 16, 1972, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the union of Rufus Weaver and Dorothy McGhee-Weaver who preceded him in death.
Rufus was the youngest of twelve siblings. Along with his siblings, Rufus was raised to be a strong believer in God, that's one of his favorite quotes was always "My Lord".
"Shorty" as he was affectionately called by family and friends, Rufus loved and enjoyed life very much. He was a product of the Cincinnati Public Schools, where he attended Cape High School. He played football for some very good teams. He was employed as a construction technician until he was forced to retire due to declining health.
Rufus was blessed with a magnetic personality that was evident by the many lives he touched. Our brother enjoyed traveling, visiting his grandchildren in Georgia, attending concerts with his oldest brother Bo (Roderick), shopping for colorful clothes, and he had an amazing shoe collection. Most of all, Rufus loved the McGhee family gatherings there he could enjoy his sister's cooking and card games.
Rufus leaves to mourn his passing: daughters: Amber (DeMarcus) and Bria; son Casey; granddaughters: Maleah and Aariyah; siblings: Shirley (Michigan), Dorothy, Roderick (Karen), Malone (Tracie), Roland, Tina, Edward, Elaine, Frederick (Illinois), Melissa, and Ruth (North Carolina); sister-in-law Desseree; best friends: Kenny, Bookie, Trina (Austin); special nephews: Quincy and Roderick, Jr.; his Brick City family; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The gathering is from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Friday, March 18, 202 at Walker Funeral Home, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati, 45206. The memorial service will immediately follow the gathering beginning at 2:00 pm.
