"Ruby" Ruby Jean Holmes was born on October 9th 1946 to Estelle and Joseph Holmes Sr. both preceded her in home going. Ruby had 7 siblings Annie Mae Suttles (proceeded Ruby in Home going) Joseph Holmes Jr. Stella Joe Barnes, Cornelia Binford, Yolanda Martin, Willie "Larry" Holmes, Daniel Holmes. These siblings gave Ruby a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Ruby birth children are Jamela, Shadeed, Omar, her Baby Adilah and Dion , and Ruby gained John, Rickia and Aaron. Ruby Children gave her 25 Grand Children Bralon , Jasmine, Tamia, Shunteya, Raheem, Omar II, John jr, Jada, Caitlynn, Kyree, Teyonte, Marsani, Hakeem, Markiya, Shadeed II, Damarion, Cherish, Keasia, T'Challa, Kesire, Dacari, Sundiata, Aaron Jr. and great grandson Josiah, all of whom were dear to Ruby's Heart. Ruby Loved art and she passed the love of art to many of her grandchildren. She also loved music dancing and fashion. Ruby was strong on Black Culture and always lending a helping hand. "Our Mom" inspired and lead her clan with a firm and loving hand. Her creativity came out in her sewing of clothing, blankets, curtain, purses and pillows which were special gifts she gave to those she loved. Ruby's Kay sir rah sir rah attitude of "whatever will be will be" helped her to get through many challenges of 70 years of Life on earth. The green thumb and love of gardening passed down from Estelle to Ruby. She graduated from Courter Tech high school where she majored in Fabric service. Ruby made and kept a lot of lifelong friends, to know her was to love her. Ruby was a spiritual person whose love of the most high reigned in her heart, and she instilled that in her children and grandchildren. Ruby ascended on May 4th 2017 to prepare a space for those she loved and reunite with her loved ones. Ruby is still saying "Shut my mouth" just listen you will hear. Visitation is from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm, on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at the Willing Spirit Baptist Church, 2012 Westwood Northern Blvd, Cincinnati (45225). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 12:00 pm.
