Royce Todd Johnson Obituary

Royce Todd Johnson, a beloved son, husband, brother and uncle passed away on December 30th, 2023 at the age of 59. He leaves behind a legacy of family, including: The Bailey's from Joliet, IL, his in-laws, the "Dawson's from San Tan Valley, AZ, and extended relatives located in Germany.

Royce was born on April 25th, 1964 in Cincinnati Ohio to Carlene (Johnson) Jaquay and Roy Johnson, Jr.. Royce graduated from Brown University with a master's degree in business administration and established a successful life for himself and his lifelong partner, Marcus Dawson. He loved his dog Sebastian, traveling around the world, and spending time with family and friends.

Royce thoroughly enjoyed working for his employer, VeriSign, Inc., a technology based company located in Reston Virginia, as a "Procurement and Sourcing Manager". He started his employment at VeriSign, Inc. on August 26, 2019 until his hospitalization on December 15, 2023. In his capacity as a Procurement and Sourcing Manager at VeriSign, Inc., Royce truly admired supporting and enjoyed working to support his manager, Stephanie Finney, who he genuinely cherished and adored his working relationship and the friendship they developed over the years.

Royce is preceded in death by his father, Roy Johnson, Jr. He is survived by his mother Carlene (Johnson) Jaquay and beloved husband, Marcus James Dawson. He also leaves behind his sister Sondra (Johnson) Bailey, nephews Albert (Boo) Bailey, Shawn Bailey, and niece Taylor Youngblood, and a host of great nieces, nephews, and many more close relatives and friends."

Relatives and friends will be received at PUMPHREY'S FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Montgomery Avenue, Rockville, MD on Friday, January 12, 2024 from 12-1 pm followed by a Service at 1:00 pm.
