Obituary

Roosevelt Stallworth was born in on January 28, 1934, in Beatrice, Alabama, to the union of the late John and Leola Stallworth. He married the late Maggie B. Steen in Beatrice, Alabama. They moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, and to this union was born ten children. Roosevelt was a gifted and talented man with many skills. His career included truck driver, lumber jack, and master carpenter. He received his "15 minutes of fame" in the 1960's when he was recognized as the best carpenter in his union by Al Schottelkotte on Channel 9 news. Needless to say this was a very proud moment in our history when we saw our dad grinning from ear to ear on television. After a lengthy illness, Roosevelt departed this life on March 26, 2013, from Drake Hospital. He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Robert Stallworth. Roosevelt leaves to cherish his memories: four daughters, Rochelle Williams and her husband, Eric, Valerie Miller, Fanny Taylor and her husband, Stephan, and Tiffany Bourrage; six sons, George Stallworth and his wife, Yvonne, Billy Stallworth, Roosevelt Stallworth Jr., Anthony Stallworth, Gerald Stallworth, and Timothy Stallworth; two sisters, Creola Heath and Grace Duncan; three brothers, Sherman Stallworth, Leon Stallworth, and John Stallworth Jr.; twenty-one grandchildren, a host of relatives and many dear friends. Funeral 6:00 p.m., Thursday, March 28 at Corinthian Baptist Church, 772 Whittier Street, Cincinnati 45229.
