Ronald E. Harris, departed this life on April 24, 2013 at 9:50 PM. He was born March 10, 1954 to Mary Harris and Jimmie Giles. Ronnie was educated in the Hamilton City School District. He served in the United States Navy from 1973-1977 and was a chef aboard the USS Puget Sound. Ronnie could fix a meal out of whatever ingredients were available. He loved to eat. Ronnie leaves behind his father, Jimmie Giles, Aunt Adeline (Giles) Sutton, four children, Delvon Harris, LaRonda (Eric) Essien, Atiya Carter and Brandon Harris; two brothers Robert Harris and Kevin Washington and Sister-in-Law Portia Bass Harris; three sisters, Vickie Pogue, Arnetta Harris Johnson and Beverly Gail Walker; ten grandchildren; nieces, nephews, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends. Ronnie will be greatly missed by his loved ones. Ronnie was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Harris, Grandfather, Benny Thomas, Grandmother, Mattie Thomas, Grandfather Jinnie Giles and Grandmother Hannah Giles, great grandfather Dusty Collins, Uncle, Johnny Collins and Aunt, Adella Johnson. The family sends a special thanks to Anita Knight who was always there for Ronnie. Funeral Services 11am, Saturday, May 4 at St. Phillips CME Church, 1205 Lane Street, Hamilton 45011 with visitation from10:00 am until hour of service.
