It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Roger Matthew Smith, aged 64, who left this world peacefully on January 27, 2026, in his hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. Born on January 19, 1962, Roger was the cherished son of Augustus and Georgia Smith, who have preceded him in death. He is survived by his beloved daughters, Lillian, Josephine, and Liadan Smith, who were the pride and joy of his life. Roger was a man who embodied hard work and dedication, not just in his professional life but also in every role he played as a father, son, and brother. He was known for his unwavering support of his family and friends, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a hearty laugh. His great sense of humor brought joy to those around him, even in the most challenging of times. Roger was a man of many interests. He always had a passion for cooking, always exploring new recipes and sharing meals with his family. He loved playing tennis as well as watching and discussing boxing and poker, activities he enjoyed with friends and loved ones. Roger was a man of God, and his faith led him through many trials and tribulations throughout his life. He valued honesty, integrity and passion. He instilled these values in his daughters, teaching them the importance of resilience and kindness. In addition to his daughters, Roger is survived by his siblings: Eugene, Dorothy, Timothy, Steve, and Douglas Smith. The bond he shared with his family was unbreakable, and he was known to cherish every moment spent with them. As we mourn the loss of Roger, we also celebrate the remarkable life he lived. His legacy will continue through the love and memories he leaves behind. A true family man, Roger found his greatest joy in fatherhood—the smiles, laughter, and the little moments spent with his daughters were what he treasured most. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you honor Roger's memory by spending time with your loved ones, sharing a meal, or engaging in an activity that brings you joy, just as he would have wanted.

Roger Matthew Smith may have departed from this earthly realm, but his spirit, love, and laughter will forever remain in our hearts. He will be missed dearly, but we take comfort in knowing that he is at peace.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Friday, February 20, 2026, at the Walker Funeral Home - Mt. Healthy, 7272 Hamilton Avenue , Mt. Healthy  (45231).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation,  beginning at 11:00 am. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy he leaves behind.

He will be laid to rest at Walnut Hills Cemetery.
