Rodney Owensby was born on June 8, 1966 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Roy and Essie Owensby, who preceded him in death. Rodney is the baby boy in his family out of 13 siblings. Rodney answering the call to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 10, 2014. Rodney received his education in the Cincinnati Public School district. He Graduated from Hughes High School in 1984. Rodney was a loving father to Rodney Owensby-Turnbow, his eldest child who preceded him in death. Lil Rodney left a priceless gift for his Day, his only grandchild, Daniyah, She also inherited both her father's and grand-daddy's distinguishable laugh. As a young adult, Rodney accepted Christ and became a member of New St. Paul Baptist Church. In 2006, he joined New Mission Missionary Baptist Church where he attended until our Lord and Savior called him home to glory. Rodney was joined in holy matrimony to Yolanda Meadows, May 13, 2006. He was a loving and devoted husband during the 8 years of their marriage. They have shared a very loving and special relationship for over 15 years. Yolanda was Rodney's best friend devoted wife and companion. Their daughter, Jalen Owensby was born from this union. Jalen was definitely a ''Daddy's Little Girl', They spent a lot of time together and developed a very special Daddy & daughter bond. Rodney was an excellent skilled forklift operator where he was employed at CW Zumbiel Company for over 15 years. Rodney was a special man to all who knew him. He enjoyed playing cards and visiting the casino. Whenever you would see Rodney 'Bop' he was smiling and would greet you with a loving hug. Rodney leaves to cherish his memory, Loving wife Yolanda. daughter Jalen, stepsons, Dion Meadows, Leonard Meadows, stepdaughter Aaliyah Montgomery, grandchild Daniya, eight brothers Robert (Diane), Roger (Brenda), Raymond (Theresa) Rickey (Valerie), Randall (deceased), Rudolph (Sherry), Chauncey (Marilyn) five sister, Netra (Jerry),Vanessa (Walter), Kim (Albert) Theresa (deceased), (Otis), Regina (Derrick) mother-in-law Bernice Murray (deceased) father-in-law, Jimmy Murray, grandmother, Aneta Whitehead, aunt Cordelia (Melvin) sister-in-law, Sharnae Meadows and a host of nieces nephews, cousins and friends.
