Obituary

Rodney Allen Carlisle Jr. was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on November 2, 1978, to Lynn Michelle Carlisle and the late Rodney A. Williams. Rodney accepted his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at an early age. He grew up in Hollydale on Ballyclare Terrace.

He attended Glendale Elementary School and was a Cub Scout. Rodney played in the Gus Macker Basketball Tournament. He later attended Princeton Junior and Senior High Schools and graduated in 1996. While at Princeton High School, Rodney played basketball as a proud and dedicated Princeton Viking. He was known as the "Cincinnati Kid" when he was at the pool table, his favorite pastime.

Rodney worked for the Kroger Distribution Warehouse in Woodlawn, Ohio. In his later years, Rodney resided in Louisville, Kentucky, where he worked for Georgia-Pacific in Lexington, Kentucky, as a machinist.

Rodney was preceded in death by his father, Rodney A. Williams; his stepfather, Casey Redding; his paternal grandmother, Geraldine Williams; his maternal grandfather, Jesse Carlisle; and his aunt, Brenda Jean Askew.

He leaves to mourn his passing his beloved mother, Lynn Michelle Carlisle-Redding; his siblings, April Lynn (Ismael) and Calin James Carlisle; his maternal grandmother, Henrietta Hicks; his great-aunts, Barbara Reed and Marilyn Hawkins; his aunts, Gwen Carlisle, Donna Williams, and Helena Carter; his uncle, Elder Harry P. Allen Jr.; his loving life partner, Darcy Johnson; and an abundance of nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on  Friday, January 23, 2026, at the Walker Event Center, 3939 Reading Road (Corner of Reading and Paddock), Cincinnati  (45229).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation,  beginning at 11:00 am. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy he leaves behind.

He will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery, 11200 Princeton Pike, Springdale, Ohio 45246.
