Obituary

Rochelle Marie Williams, a vibrant soul known for her infectious love of life and dance, passed away suddenly on January 10, 2021, at the age of 63. Born on May 17, 1957, in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she spent her entire life, Rochelle's presence was a constant source of joy and inspiration to those around her. She was a cherished daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, partner, and friend.

Rochelle was the beloved daughter of Ella Williams and the late Howard Williams.

She was a guiding light in the lives of her daughters, Tamika E. and Takiya Fears, and shone brightly as a grandmother to Rodneisha Gray, Montayo Fears, and Zion Gray. Rochelle was a supportive sibling to her brothers Edward Williams, Vernon Williams, Tracey Goshade, and Thomas Goshade, and a loving sister to Yolanda Chenault. Her life was enriched by the companionship of her boyfriend, John Johnson, and she shared a special bond with her friend Wendell Davidson. Her last living aunt, Wanda Cummings, along with a host of other family and friends, will remember Rochelle's legacy with fondness.

After graduating from high school, Rochelle's interests blossomed into passions that filled her life with excitement and purpose. She was an avid traveler, a creative writer, and a dedicated individual to her exercise routine. But above all, Rochelle's love for dancing was unparalleled—she was known to light up any dance floor and dance everyone off their feet with her unmatched energy and rhythm.

Rochelle's enthusiasm for the lottery was another of her many joys. Whether winning big or small, she embraced each victory with the same grace and gratitude that she carried in all aspects of her life. Her wins were always celebrated with the same warmth and generosity that she extended to everyone she met.

Rochelle's zest for life was contagious, and she had the unique ability to share her love and smiles freely, touching the hearts of all who knew her. She lived by the well-known quote attributed to Maya Angelou, "Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud." Indeed, Rochelle was that rainbow in the lives of many, bringing color and hope even on the cloudiest of days.

Her spirit, a blend of strength, kindness, and unwavering positivity, will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Rochelle's memory will continue to inspire and encourage her loved ones to embrace life with open arms, just as she did.

As we say goodbye to Rochelle Marie Williams, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the indelible mark she has left on this world. Her legacy of love, laughter, and the power of dance will resonate forever in the memories of those who loved her.

Rochelle's life was a beautiful testament to the joy that can be found in the everyday moments, and her absence will be felt profoundly by her family and friends. Yet, in the echoes of her laughter and the reminiscence of her dance, Rochelle will continue to guide and uplift us, just as she always has.

In the dance of life, Rochelle Marie Williams danced with grace, passion, and an unwavering spirit. Her steps may have ceased, but the music of her life's dance will play on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Rest in peace, Rochelle, and may your journey be as joyful as the life you lived among us.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother Duke E. Williams and sister Pam Williams.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother Ella E. White (Samuel White step-father); her daughters, Tamika E. and Takiya Fears; brothers, Edward Williams, Vernon Williams, Tracey Goshade, Thomas Goshade; sister Yolanda Chenault; granddaughters Rodneisha Gray; grandsons, Montayo Fears and Zion Gray.  John Johnson (Boyfriend) and a special friend Wendell Davidson; last living aunt Wanda Cummings and a host of other family and friends.
