Robert Simmons, Jr. was born April 5, 1944 in Montgomery, Alabama. He was the son of Marie Smith and Robert Simmons Sr. He departed this life on Thursday, June 14, 2002 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Robert attended Cincinnati Public Schools and graduated from Robert A. Taft High School in June 1964. He served two years in the U. S. Army and was a proud and faithful member of the Aces Whist Club. He was a member of the Royal Knight Lodge IBPOE of W #1596. He retired from the University of Cincinnati after 30 years. He leaves to cherish his memory: mother, Marie Smith; sister, Rosa Simmons and three brothers, James Simmons, Sr., Willie D. Smith and Tyrone Smith, two aunts, Lula Mae Hooks of Montgomery, Alabama and Minnie Lee Jackson of Cincinnati; five nieces, Toni M. Simmons, Latrecia M. Simmons, Mary A. Clemens, Jackie A. Clemens, and Letfa Clemens; six nephews, Tony Simmons, James Simmons Jr., Tyrone Rucker, Jerome Rucker, Jerrit D. Simmons and Elliot Clemens, sister-in-law, Victoria Hill; three foster children, Denise, Timothy and Shawn Allen and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 19, 2002.
