Robert Leander 'Robby' Kelly, Sr was born March 27, 1966, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Robert Gene and Carrie Jewel Kelly Tolbert. After dealing with a long illness, he departed this life on May 18, 2014. Reared in Avondale and Winton Terrace, he graduated from Hughes High school in 1984. After high school, he went into the United States Army and was honorably discharged. He was an expert with hand grenades and received medals in riffle marksmanship. He leaves to cherish his memory: sisters, Gwendolyn Kelly, Shawna Fraser (Owen) and Mavis Tolbert; son, Robert Leander Kelly, Jr; close companion, Dana Daniels and her sons, Dion and DeAirrez; his 'big bruh' cousin, Darnell Houston; nieces and nephews, Julian Tolbert, Camille Tevis, Demetrius Jackson, Richard Tevis, Jessica Wilson, Mekhya Metcalf; dear friends, William Yates and Hezekiah McNeil; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, adopted children and friends. Funeral Services were held Friday, May 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Crossroads Community Church, 3500 Madison Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45209. Minister Mark Miller and Pastor Jenny Baker officiated.
