Robert James Mitchell Jr., known by everyone as Junior, Dollar Bill and Mitch, son of Rosemary Mitchell and Rev. Robert Lee Mitchell was born October 5, 1941 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was the first child of three.
He attended Cincinnati Public Schools. He participated in football, baseball and ran track in high school. He was employed at M-Pact Corp.
During his spare time he enjoyed cooking and making up recipes, most of all he enjoyed being around family and friends. His favorite hobby was fishing for fishes. He was a chef at the World's Fair in New York City. He had a sense of humor and enjoyed his life to the fullest.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Rosemary Mitchell and Rev. Robert Mitchell; twin grandchildren, James and Jazmine Dukes-Green and his fishing partner and nephew Michael John Griffie Sr.
The Lord called him home on Thursday April 22, 2021.
Robert leaves his memories to be cherished by: four daughters, Doris Render (John), Linda D. Richard, Robin Isome Mitchell and Robin Mitchell McCrory; two sisters, Wanda Cornell and Lena Johnson; two nephews, Kevin Cornell and Douglas Johnson; one niece, Tara Johnson, seven grandchildren, one great granddaughter, a faithful, loving and devoted great nephew, Michael John Griffie Jr. and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at the Walker Funeral Home - McMILLAN STREET CHAPEL, 1025 E. McMillan Street, Cincinnati (45206). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Everyone attending must wear a mask and practice social distancing.
Interment will follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery, 3117 Victory Parkway, Cincinnati, Ohio 45206.
In keeping with the Covid-19 Pandemic restrictions masks are required in order to enter the service and social distancing must be practiced. Please be prepared to comply for the safety of all.
