Robert S. McAfee was born on August 11, 1935, in Cincinnati, Ohio to George O. McAfee and Beatrice Bevens. Robert was the second of three siblings. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ray. Robert accepted Christ as a child. He was baptized and became a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He was a member of the Males Ushers, President of the Male Chorus for over thirty years until he became ill. He tried to go to Male Chorus rehearsal and sing. Singing was his passion. He loved to cook, travel and spend time with family and friends. Robert graduated from Lockland Wayne High School and became a member of the United States Army. Because he always wanted to help people, Robert became a Physical Therapist. Robert retired from Drake Hospital after thirty-five years of service. He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of thirty-five years, Violeana M. McAfee, three children, Sherrie (Sylvester) Price, Robert Allen McAfee, and Gina (Reggie) Mincy, his dear sister, Rosie Bolds, nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many relatives and friends. Service at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 24, 2010. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 10180 Woodlawn Blvd., Cincinnati (45215). Rev. Timothy S. Swan, Pastor, Officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers: Curt Flanigan, Brandon Rudd, Sylvester Price, Branden McAfee, Tyrone Bowman, Michael Bolds, Reggie Mincy, Terry Bolds. Honorary Pallbearers: Leon Williams, Ralph Gibbs, Douglas Wynn Sr., Sam Wagner, Alton Smith, Steve McCullom, John Allen, Rev. Mr. Daniel Thomas, Sandford Kirksey, Carl Moore, Chester Kavanaugh, Ruben Wilson. Sincere appreciation is extended to you for the many acts of kindness. Thank you for sharing and caring in our sorrow. We love you and may God bless you. We also wish to thank Dr. Mahida, Dr. Mauntel, Dr. Moreira, Dr. Kirkham, Dr. Prawl, Christine Geeding, and Rowley, DCI Dialysis nurses and also the Meadow Nursing staff. A special thanks to Rev. Eddie Martin, Leon Williams, Sam Wagner, Shirley Munlin, Dorothy Armstrong, Marie Mears, Vershawnna Burgin, and Ana Bolds, Myrtle Cade for keeping watch over us.
