IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert Lee
Lockett
December 26, 1964 – December 29, 2025
Robert Lee Lockett was born on December 26, 1964, in Cincinnati, Ohio, at Cincinnati General Hospital to Eddie Lee Lockett, Sr. and Ruth Lois Lockett, who both preceded him in death. Robert leaves to cherish his memory, three brothers: Kenneth L. (Theresa) Lockett, Wyman L. Lockett, Eddie L. (Yvonne) Lockett, Jr., three sisters: Pamela E. Hitchcock, Sharon D. Lockett, Cynthia A. Lockett, and a host of nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews.
Robert graduated from Robert W. Franks Adult Center. He also attended Frederick Dyer and Margaret B. Rost Schools, where he learned some sign language so that the family could understand what he wanted since he was nonverbal.
In 1974, Robert participated in and graduated from a special swimming program for the handicapped at Camp Stepping Stones through the American National Red Cross.
Robert was fun-loving and enjoyed being on the go. He would grab his coat and shoes to let you know that he was ready to go, regardless of the season or time of day. He loved to be with family and interact with the kids. If a child passed him, he would grab them in his arms and rock them while grinning.
Robert loved to eat. If you had food, he would grab some of your food before you could even blink…then he would laugh about it.
Robert also loved music, especially when it was upbeat. He would grin really big as he danced to the music.
During the last few years of his life, he was cared for by the staff of GMR. He was really fond of Chino, Fred, Anna, as well as a few others.
Robert lived 61 years, much longer than the doctors had expected him to. For those 61 years, we all enjoyed every minute of having him in our lives.
