Obituary

Robert Lee Baker was born on February 14, 1943, to the late James and Magalene Baker in Fayetteville, North Carolina. As a young man he moved from NC to New jersey, where he found his love for cooking and made it his life profession. Robert met Joyce Elaine Miller in the summer of 1966 who became his wife on January 4, 1974. They were married for 43 years and together for 51 years. In 1973 he joined the Army serving 10+ years. We honor the late veteran. When honorably discharged he continued his passion for cooking at the University of Cincinnati Hospital for the next 23 years. He retired spring of 2012. During his final years he spent majority of his time enjoying his hobbies of fishing, playing the Lottery, watching cooking shows, shopping with his wife, baking, cooking for his family on the holidays, going to Popeye's Chicken faithfully everyday Tuesday, and watching his favorite sports teams. He was preceded in death by his mother and father James and Magalene Baker, his sisters Catherine Landry and Bettie Johnson and brother Lee Andrew Baker. He leaves to cherish his memories his two sisters Christine Haynes and Janie Murray, two brothers James Baker and Jerome Baker, 4 sisters-in law, 2 brothers-in-law, his mother-in-law Georgia Miller, four children Deborah, Andrea (Quincy), Erica (Quinn), and Robert Jr (Sonnequa), 7 granddaughters Tanea (Lavelle), Tanesha (G'Vante), Tionna, Eenaja, Eenaya, Taliah, and Kyana, 4 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
