Robert Jones was born on July 12, 1944, in Lexington, Kentucky, to the union of Fred Jones and Sally Jones. Robert, along with his siblings, was brought to Cincinnati at a young age.

Robert, affectionately known as "Grit," loved his family deeply. He and his wife, Sharon, were childhood sweethearts, and Sharon remained the apple of his eye for over 65 years. He also received his master's degree and licensure in social work. For over 30 years, he provided safe housing and counseling to those struggling with addiction and in need of support. He will be sadly missed and will always hold a place in our hearts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Sally; his brothers, Paul Jones (Cynthia) and Richard Jones (Teresa); his sisters, Elsie Bohannon, Maggie Jones, and Corraine Toler (Richard); and his brother-in-law, Tom Ward.

Robert departed this life peacefully at home on October 19, 2024.

Robert leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Sharon; his children, Raven Jones (Janice) of Cleveland, Ohio, and Karen Jones (Stanley) of Columbus, Ohio; his brothers, Carter Jones (Pearline) of Georgia, Charles Jones (Gwen), and Jerry Jones (Victoria); his sister, Lorraine Ward of Cincinnati; his grandchildren, Raven Mason, Lauren Coleman, Asha Coleman, and Sharon L. Jones; great-grandchildren, Leilani Davenport, Irie Davenport, Faith Beard, and Ava Dalton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on  Friday, November 8, 2024, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati  (45206).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy he leaves behind.

Interment will follow at Vine Street Hill Cemetery, 3701 Vine Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45220.
