Obituary

Robert William Detisch, 57, of Brent Ky, passed away peacefully on March 11 at the VA Medical Center Hospice Unit in Cincinnati Oh, after a long battle with Frontotemporal Dementia. He was a loving companion, son, brother, father, grandfather, and uncle. Robert was preceded in death by his father; Robert William Detisch. Robert is survived by his longtime companion Michelle Renae Willoughby; mother; Gloria Jean (Holloway) Detisch; sister, Bobbie Jean Detisch; sons, Michael William Detisch and Robert Austin Detisch; mother of his children; Anna Marie (Ryder/Detisch) Kitchen; grandchildren, Reagan Rae Detisch, Valerie Quinn Detisch; niece, Nicole Christine (Detisch) Bowling; and many cousins.

Born on July 14th of 1967 to Robert William Detisch and Gloria Jean (Holloway) Detisch he grew up in Brent, Ky and loved being the joker, making people laugh, and playing music. Rob was a very talented musician, singer, locksmith, pilot, welder, and basically a jack of all trades. He enlisted in the Army in 1985 and became a part of the 229th AHB and 101st ABN Divisions, receiving his service ribbon/marksman badge and becoming an aircraft Powertrain Repairer. After a brief stint in the service, he returned home to pick back up on his music and got his small aircraft pilot license. His musical talents were impressive as he could play any instrument by ear, sing any song, and patterned himself, good or bad, after the real Outlaws of Country. He played drums with Double Diamond, Black Mountain, Willie Begley and the Poor Boys, and Whiskey River. He formed his own band called Montana and toured the tri-state area. His band members who later gained notoriety were Gary "Mudbone" Cooper of Sly Fox and Mike Estes of Lynyrd Skynyrd. His creativity was endless, from becoming a locksmith, rebuilding an engine, to welding home decor, and building his own flight simulator. He was a kindhearted soul who would help anyone that asked and some who didn't.

Rob was greatly loved and will be thoroughly missed by all.

Cremation services will be private, and A Celebration of Life will be scheduled for April, details will be posted at that time.
