He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Beulah Calmeise, sister and brother-in-law, Joann C. Garner and Thomas L. Garner. Robert, (Bob or Bobby to many of his family and friends) was raised in the Walnut Hills section of Cincinnati. He attended Douglass Elementary School and Withrow High School, graduating in June of 1954. After graduating from high school, Robert attended the University of Cincinnati. Bob began his work experience as a hod carrier for the Miller Construction Company in Columbus, Ohio for the summer. It was during this job Bob fell and hurt his back and thus he began his life long bout with back problems. Bob's career consisted of working at General Electric, Max's Clothing Store(Gentry Shop), and National Distillers where he remained for 32 year until his retirement. After retiring from National Distillers, Bob volunteered at Christ Hospital's Information Desk. This volunteer work was right up Bob's alley because he loved to meet and talk to people. Bob also held several part time jobs, including helping his father in the family painting business and as a Disc-Jockey at the Quality Inn in Norwood. His job as a Disc- Jockey was a way of sharing his love of music, especially jazz music. In his early years Bob also enjoyed electronics and carpentry. On July 21, 1975 he married his long time friend Geraldine (Gerri) Roley. This July they celebrated 35 years of marriage. They had a blended family, Bob had five children from previous marriages, Geraldine had two children from a previous marriage and they adopted a daughter. When all the children left home, Bob and Gerri enjoyed traveling to their timeshare with the family. Bob and Gerri joined Bond Hill St Mark's United Methodist church which later merged with Mount Zion United Methodist Church to become the New Vision United Methodist Church. Bob was a faithful member and served as part of the PPR Committee and the United Methodist Men. He leaves to celebrate his memory: his devoted wife, Geraldine; eight children, Linda McClellan (Walter) of Louisville, KY, Karen Calmeise-Darden( Michael ) of Glendale MD, Scott Calmeise of Cincinnati, OH, Randall Calmeise ( Joy) of Louisville, KY, Jesse Roley (Iris) of Cincinnati, OH, Rahn Calmeise (Bernadette) of Cleveland, OH, Jerry Roley (Amivi) of Las Vegas, NV and Tiffany Calmeise of Cincinnati, OH; one sister, Joyce C.
