IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert Randall
Allen
February 19, 1961 – March 15, 2022
Robert (known to his family as Randy) was born in Gary, Indiana on February 19, 1961, to Ulysses Robert Allen and Jane H. Allen. He was proceeded in death by his father, paternal grandparents Harrell and Jamzella Smith of Sun City West, Arizona, maternal grandparents Weldon Allen Sr. and Mary Allen Heard (Sylvester) of Gary, Indiana.
Dr. Allen was educated at Andrean High School, Merrillville, Indiana, DePauw University, Greencastle, Indiana, and Ohio State University College of Dentistry, Columbus, Ohio. He opened his first dental practice in Dayton, Ohio followed by a second practice, Seven Hills Dentistry in Forest Park, Ohio, and finally settled in his beloved community of Springdale, Ohio. At his Springdale Dental Arts Centre practice, he created a family environment with his dedicated staff and longstanding patients. Dr. Allen was accomplished in dental surgery and specialized in IV Sedation, and implants.
In addition to his accomplishments in the Dental profession, Randall lived a full life exploring many hobbies, traveling, and collecting. Among his passionate pursuits were flying as a licensed pilot of small aircraft, cooking, air pistol, reading, oil paintings, Asian pottery, golf, exotic aquariums, and his beloved Chicago Cubs. His hobbies allowed him the freedom to be spontaneous and to pursue artistic beauty. His love of travel photography took him to many destinations across the USA and abroad to the Caribbean, Mediterranean, Italy, France, Spain, Mexico, and Canada. Dr. Allen also became a real estate investor and helped revitalize several neighborhoods by learning to rehab properties and offering single-family rental homes in the community. He loved to surprise both his work and personal families with new adventures, thoughtful gestures, and unexpected destinations as he always thought to include them in his wonderful exploration of life.
Dr. Allen's former marriage to Bonnie Shaw created a blended family with the birth of their son Nicholas Robert Allen and daughter Alexandra Desiree Louise Allen, along with stepchildren Gregory and Jasmine.
Those who will cherish his memory are his beloved children: son Nicholas R. Allen, daughter Alexandra D.L. Allen, mother Jane H. Allen, and brother Phillip H. Allen (Mary Ann), devoted cousin Karyn D. Williams and an extended family of Uncles Weldon Allen Jr. (Josephine) and Leon Randall Smith, Aunt Sharon Patricia Bonner, and Great Aunt Marjorie Halton, a host of cousins, friends and staff.
