Ms. Rita M. Spratley was born on March 18, 1943, to the late Mary L. Spratley-Jackson and her stepfather, Columbus Jackson. After a life well lived, Rita passed away on March 22, 2025, at the age of 82.

Rita attended adult day workshops, where she dedicated time to strengthening her social and independent living skills. In her free time, she found joy in serving the Lord and crocheting. She cherished spending time with her mother and family, especially during the holidays, when she and her mom would wear matching pajamas—a tradition she adored. Rita also had a passion for fashion, taking pride in matching outfits and styling her own unique pieces.

Known for her lively spirit, Rita had a way of making everyone around her smile. Even as her health declined, she remained resilient—smiling, fussing, and cussing. There was never a dull moment with Rita; she made sure those around her enjoyed themselves. Deeply loved by many, she will be truly missed.

Rita was preceded in death by her brothers, Benny Spratley, Roy Jackson, and Gregory Jackson.

She is survived by her brothers, William Jackson Sr. (Shawana), Minister Louis Lum Jackson, and Joseph M. Jackson (Thailand); her sisters-in-law, Minister Judy Jackson and Sally Spratley. She also leaves behind her cousins, Maddie Caldwell and Patricia Moore; her devoted care coordinator, Kammy Seymour; the staff at Grace Works; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

Visitation is from 9:30 am until 10:30 am, on  Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati  (45206).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 10:30 am. Bishop Michael F. Mack will officiate.  Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy she leaves behind.

Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, 4521 Spring Grove Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45232.
