Ricky Van Odum August 24, 1959 - October 19, 2023

Ricky Van Odum was born August 24th 1959 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Jesse Esau Smith and Mary Alice Smith. He was preceded in death by two siblings, Jeanette Smith and Christopher Smith.  Ricky attended Hughes High School and graduated in 1979. He worked at Frisch's Commissary as the lead baker for 25 years, where he later retired.  Ricky was a man of few words (except when "Ron" showed up lol). He had the brightest smile.  Some would say he was a gentle giant, and never met a stranger. He loved his family.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his beautiful wife, Mary Odum; his siblings, Donna, Dale (Kim), Helen, Claude Frazier (Anita), Darryl Frazier (Sanserrae), Willie James Rox, Louis Rox, and Renee Jones; his children, Nikki (Derrick), DeAndre (April), Latoya, Ameka and Chrissy; his nine grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation is from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm, on  Friday, November 3, 2023, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati  (45206).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 3:00 pm.
