Richard Lee Gentry Birth: Jan. 20, 1931 in Reidsville, Rockingham County, North Carolina, Death: Jan. 7, 2010 in Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana Richard Lee Gentry, age 78, of Richmond, died Thursday, January 7, 2010, at Golden Living Center-Richmond, in Richmond, Indiana. Born January 20, 1931, in Reidsville, N.C., to Roy and Lottie DeGrote Gentry, he lived in Richmond since 1964. Richard was a 1960 graduate of North Carolina State College. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Korean War. Richard retired from Alcoa in 1993 after 33 years as an industrial engineer. He was a member of the Alcoa 25-Year Club, was an antique dealer, and enjoyed gardening, blues music and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Aline Gentry; son, Michael Gentry and his wife Becky of Cincinnati, Ohio; daughter, Elizabeth Renee 'Betsy' Brunnemer of Greenwood; three grandchildren, Haley and Colin Brunnemer and Grace Gentry; brother Harold Gentry and his wife Edith of North Carolina; nieces; nephews; cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. A memorial service was held at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, January 10, 2010 .Military Honors were provided by the Wayne County Honor Guard.
