Obituary

Rhonda Elyse Bryan was born December 16, 1953 to the union of Vernon and Annie (English) Watson. Rhonda departed this life on Sunday, September 16, 2018.

Rhonda loved the Lord and was baptized she and her big sister Minister Vernice Appling AKA (Cookie) together at a very early age, at New Prospect Baptist Church in Over the Rhine, by the late Rev. T.L. Lane. Rhonda loved her sister "Cookie."

Rhonda was very actively involved at New Prospect. She dedicated her life to ministry. She served as the Vice-President of the Mission Department. She was actively involved in the Roselawn Monday night Cell group, Cancer Support Ministry, supported the Sunday night live preaching and Marriage Enrichment Ministry. Rhonda looked for opportunities to serve wherever she was needed.

Rhonda school days started in the Cincinnati Public Schools and she graduated from Hughes High School. She furthered her education at the University of Cincinnati Raymond Walters College, where she received her Associates degree. There she established many special relationships.

Rhonda finally met the love of her life, Mervin Bryan . They were married on October 25, 1986 and to this union was born one child, a son, Jeremy Bryan.  Rhonda loved her son and thought the world of him and could not do enough for him.

Rhonda worked as an Administrative Assistant at Robert Half International. She worked at Computer Horizon as an Executive Assistant for 15 years. She worked at GE aircraft Engines as a secretary. Then later, Rhonda worked at People Working Cooperatively.

Rhonda was always looking to be a servant in the Kingdom of God.  She volunteered her services at the Red Cross, The Salvation Army and United Way.

Rhonda closed her eyes and slept away and leaves to cherish her memories; a beloved and devoted husband, Mervin Bryan ; one devoted loving son, Jeremy A. Bryan; one dear friend and loving sister, Rev. Vernice (James) Appling; 3 sisters-in­-law, Winifred Bayne, Edna Morris and Elsie of London; 3 brothers-in-Iaw, David Bryan, Joseph Bryan and James Bryan of Barbados; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on  Friday, September 21, 2018, at the New Prospect Baptist Church, 1580 Summit Road, Cincinnati  (45237).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation,  beginning at 11:00 am. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy she leaves behind.

She will be laid to rest at Spring Grove Cemetery, 4521 Spring Grove Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45232.
