IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Reginald Dwayne
Phoenix, Sr.
September 8, 1956 – May 30, 2025
I was born to the union of Raymond, Sr. and Evelyn (nee' Thomas) Phoenix, September 8, 1956, in Cincinnati, Ohio. I was the third eldest of ten children. I was also blessed to have the honor of Don Williams as my father and Emma Phoenix as my mother.
My elementary education was received in the Cincinnati Public School System. I attended and graduated from Aiken High School in 1975. While at Aiken, I majored in Dry Cleaning.
After High School, I served my country by joining the military branch of the Army and received an honorable discharge.
I had many passions, first and foremost, serving my God. I accepted the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was baptized. I joined the Inspirational Bible Church (formerly Inspirational Baptist Church) under the leadership of Bishop Victor S. Couzens, Sr., and while at Inspirational, I served on the Usher, Men's and Missionary Ministries, and was the Usher Ministry President.
After the military, I held several jobs. My biggest accomplishment was working for Rosemont Industries for fifteen years as a manager until the company disbanded. I was later employed by Queen City Barrel, Value City, and several Nursing Home establishments. And moving forward, I was employed for three years with Safeguard Security as a Security Guard stationed at City Hall for the City of Cincinnati for three years. After my contract ended, I was hired by the City of Cincinnati, Department of Public Services as a Municipal Worker for a short period, working on permanency until my employment ended due to injury.
I was known for dressing up in my best. I had to be sharp with my hats, shoes, suits, and my Bengals gear. And all who knew me, knew how Reggie Phoenix was coming, and y'all sitting here now saying, he casket sharp! I also loved dancing, playing cards, watching westerns, and just enjoying family, friends, and anyone I greeted.
After a lengthy illness, God said son, it's time to begin your new journey and on May 30, 2025, my journey began, leaving my loving and devoted wife of 18 years Marquitta, my beautiful daughters, Chakita Furr, Tawana Rozier, Maria Moore, Amber Huntley (Jon), Raylynn Phoenix, and Saryah Mack. My handsome sons: Antwan Fairbanks, Sr., Reginald Phoenix, Jr., Terrell Phoenix, Sr., 9 granddaughters: Dre'Yana, Teraja, Zoriah, Maraysha, Myasia, Mariah, Mariahna, Janiah, and Kameron. 14 grandsons: Maliek, Josiah, Eddie, Myrick, Maurion, Adonijah, Messiah, Mylen, Antwon, Jr., Anteus, Andrell, Mohamed, Terrell, Jr., and Tevon, in addition to 10 great-grandchildren.
