IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Regina Elaine
Phoenix
August 18, 1963 – November 14, 2024
I was born to Evelyn Phoenix August 18, 1963, and was the eighth child of ten. I was blessed to have two fathers Raymond Phoenix, Sr. and Don Williams.
My education was received in the Cincinnati Public School System. I was a 1981 graduate of Aiken High School. After high school I received my associate degree in Business Administration at Southwestern College of Business and furthered my career in administrative work at the Winton Hills Clinic for many years.
After my career in the business field, I used my expertise to start my own business. I opened Ms. Gina's Kiddie Castle Daycare Service to several parents and children over the years.
I had many passions, first and foremost serving the God I grew to know and love. I was baptized at Saint Stephens Baptist Church and later joined Inspirational Bible (formerly Baptist) Church under the leadership of Bishop Victor S. Couzens, Sr.
All who knew me best, knew that I took time out of my day, several times a day to get closer to God by praying, talking to God and reading my scriptures and paying my tithes.
Monday night wrestling was another passion. Everyone knew on Mondays I was not trying to answer the phone because it was WWE night. I would say to all who called me, "why are you calling me, call me back, now you know wrestling on" and I didn't care who was offended, they knew what it was.
God gifted me the blessing of my life, my one and only beautiful daughter Kiana, who I loved dearly, and nothing could tear us apart.
I loved my family and there was nothing better than dancing, card games and just getting together with one another. There was not a day when I didn't keep up with my family. I made it known even if I was younger or older to my siblings, that I didn't play about them, they had to check in with me every day. They would always tell me, I have a mother, the same one you have, and my response would be "And, you already know what it is; cray, cray".
I was the caregiver of my mother, which I really enjoyed. Sometimes I had to let her know "with caution, I repeat with caution" I was in charge. First, she would give me that look and we would just laugh and then she would say, "you better go somewhere Gina, ain't nobody playing with you", but it was all love between us.
After a short illness, the Lord had his plan for me, he said daughter your earthly work is done; I need you here with me and I was called home to begin my new journey on Thursday, November 14, 2024.
Beginning my new journey, I leave to cherish my beautiful and talented daughter Kiana, which words cannot express my love for her. My loving and devoted mother Evelyn Phoenix, the blessing of my father Raymond Phoenix, Sr. (Emma); siblings Beverly Fowler (Darion), Raymond Phoenix, Jr., Reginald Phoenix, Sr. (Marquitta), Melinda Scott (Antonio), Karen Kindell, James Phoenix, Clarence Phoenix, Sr., Cynthia Rivers (Artakia Sr.) Anthony Turner, Michelle Turner, Angela Turner, Blanche Thompson and Edith Anderson. Uncle Vernon Thomas (Jimmie Lee) and Aunts Katherine Hill and Florenza Smith, an abundance of nieces, nephews, and cousins; in addition to a host of friends and acquaintances.
This journey has me joining my sister Crystal Phoenix, my God daughter and niece Sha'Liya, Father Don Williams, my maternal and paternal grandparents, aunts and uncles and other family.
