Raymond was a very outgoing person who never met a stranger. He loved to work on cars and play tonk and spades. He was a labor worker at Procter and Gamble for many years. Raymond leaves to cherish his memories: a very close friend, Gregory Essex (Alisa), his adopted family; mother, Betty Essex; brothers, James Essex, Jr., Darrell Essex (Pamela), and David Essex (Sara); sisters, Barbara Poole (Joe), Carol Tolliver (Gerry), Janet Brown (Kenneth) and Karen Marshall (Tony), a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
