January 4, 1970 – May 23, 2026
Rachel Englemon Ross was born on January 4, 1970, to the late James Graves and Stella Mae Englemon Graves. She peacefully transitioned from this earthly life on May 23, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved older siblings, Thomas, Robert, Patricia, and Joan Englemon.
Rachel was the youngest of nine children. She attended Bishop Howard School and later graduated from Holy Cross High School. From an early age, Rachel had a special love for children. She pursued a degree in Early Childhood Education and dedicated much of her life to caring for and nurturing young minds. Before becoming a mother herself, Rachel was known throughout the community for babysitting and caring for countless children. She also worked at several early childhood education centers, where she was deeply loved by both her coworkers and the children she served.
Rachel was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her warm spirit, infectious smile, and loving heart touched everyone she met. She was truly the life of the party and enjoyed spending time celebrating life’s special moments with family and friends. Rachel also had a passion for cooking and baking, a talent she developed as a young girl and shared lovingly with those around her.
On September 12, 2015, Rachel married the love of her life, David Ross. Their wedding day was one of the happiest days of her life, and together they shared a beautiful bond filled with love and companionship.
Rachel cherished her nieces and nephews beyond measure. Known as the “cool aunt,” she created lasting memories with them, and they adored being in her presence throughout their lives. Her love for family knew no bounds.
Rachel leaves to cherish her precious memories her beloved husband, David Ross, and her beautiful daughters, Kylynn, Miracle, and Sophia Englemon, and her stepdaughter, Courtney Embry. One stepson, Chris Evans (Grace). She also leaves behind her pride and joy, her grandson Kaison Englemon, affectionately known as her “Sugar Bear,” along with her grandsons Khalil and Kannon.
She is also survived by her sisters, Gwendolyn Johnson (James) of Covington, Kentucky, and Anna Englemon of Atlanta, Georgia; her brothers, John and Eugene Englemon of Covington, Kentucky; her nephews, Jason and Joshua Englemon; and her nieces, Dashawna Minnifield (Brandon), Rasheedah, Sakeenah, Jameelah, Shia, Ara, Charnae, and Shantay Englemon. She also leaves behind a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Rachel shared a special bond with her favorite cousin, Renee Mullins, with whom she created many treasured memories throughout the years.
She also leaves behind her cherished friends, who became sisters through love and loyalty: Terri Behannon, Dawn Young, Teresa Page, and Annah.
Rachel’s love, kindness, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends will be remembered forever. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
