Rachel Allen passed away May 10 at the age of 78. She was born on July 4, 1935. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 17 at 10:00am at Walker Funeral Home-Walnut Hills Chapel, 1025 E. Please share your special messages with the Allen family at www.HerbWalker.com. Lee Allen was born July 4, 1935 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Wayman and Carrie Caldwell. She departed this life on May 10, 2014 at her daughter's home, Carrie Allen. Rachael was married to the late Earnest Allen Sr., who preceded her in death November 2008 along with her brothers, William Noble, Harold Caldwell, sister Mary Kelly, daughters, Earnestine Cobb, Deborah Allen; grandsons, Earnest Allen III and Kenneth Allen; nephews, Earnest Davis, Robert Davis. Rachel was well known in the community and was a faithful member of Golden Gate Baptist Church for a number of years until her illness, she was always willing to help and serve in any capacity when asked. She was employed at Christ Hospital, where she retired. After leaving work, she worked at Maple Tower as an Activity Coordinator. She loved to go to church, travel, family gatherings, and casino. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Rachel leaves not mourn her passing, but to cherish her precious memory: her son, Earnest Allen Jr.; daughters, I. Pat Allen, Rachel Allen, Veronica Pitts (Leonard), Carrie Allen; 12 grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, adopted daughter, Juanita and loving son-in-law, Turner Thrasher; and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, relatives and friends.
