At a very young age, he relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio with his family. He later completed his academic studies through the Cincinnati Public School System. Employed in the food processing industry, Phil prided himself on being a hard worker and dedicated employee. He also took great pride in the sport he loved so much, Football, and as well as his hometown a favorite team, The Cincinnati Bengals "Who Dey". Phillip was known and will be remembered by many as a "gentle giant" with a giving heart. Phillip Mays departed his life on earth on January 3, 2016, at the age of 61. He will be missed. He leaves to cherish his memory, his adopted family, Brenda Reed, her sons, Curtis Reed, Courtney Reed, her daughters, Monica Reed, Jamiliah Reed, siblings, Charles "Sonny" Mays, Sam Mays, Marshall Mays, Sheila Mays, Carolyn Mays, and Mary Mays, several adopted grandchildren, great-grandchildren, all of Cincinnati, Ohio, and a host of close friends.
