Phillip Walter Forte, Phil also known as "Goose," was born in Eufaula, Alabama to parents, Ella and Willie. He was a family man who loved taking road trips back "home" to Alabama, always remembering to bring his mom back some of those Alabama peas she loves so much. Phil always managed to keep a smile on his face and joy in his heart. He was a knowledgeable man who enjoyed the simple things in life like family, fishing and grilling. Phil began his education at Pleasant Hill Elementary, then attending Milford High for high school and transferred to finish high school at Mt. Healthy High School. He worked for the City of Cincinnati for 24 years, winning several awards one being the "Best Grounds Crew," which he was extremely proud of. There he was given the nickname "Goose" by those who looked up to him and those he considered family. He later left his job with the city but continued his passion of Landscaping until his health would no longer allow him to do so. Phil was preceded in death by his father Willie, Grandmother Julie Mae Wilson, Aunt Ruthie Mae Hicks, Great Aunt Susie Griffin, and Niece Nicole DeMarcia. Phil leaves his memory to be cherished by his mother, Ella Williams, son Phillip Forte Jr., fiancé Darlene Grim (Shanice & Brittany, grandson Trereshaun Thomas), father figure & mentor James Wilson, sisters Gracie DeMarcia (Antonyo), Letha Smith, Tammy Forte, nieces and nephews Michele DeMarcia Davis (Ron), LaShanda Forte, Antonio Forte, LaShonda Forte, Antonette Goodloe, Gianna Turner (James), Jessica DeMarcia, Barbara Smith, Shatia Goodloe, DeVaughntay Carter and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Friday, August 4, 2017, at the Walker Funeral Home - North Avondale , 3939 Reading Road , Cincinnati (45229).
