Phillip Michael Dawson was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on December 17, 1948, to the union of James and Flossie Dawson (both preceded him in death).  He was a loving brother of three siblings who preceded him in death as well: James "Junior" Mitchell, Eloise Thomas and Walter Henry Dawson.

Phillip gave his life to Christ at a young age and was a member of Southern Baptist Church.

Even though he entered into Astoria Place Nursing Home many years ago, Phillip was known to have a smile on his face and to enthusiastically greet members of the staff with a hearty "Oh boy or oh boy!" He loved to watch sports, especially football and regularly sat in the common area to enjoy a game.

On August 1, 2020 at the age of 71 Phillip returned unto the Father.

He leaves to mourn his passing multiple cousins: Reverend Gerry Logan, Ricky Logan, Mary Logan Tucker, Thomas Merritt (Tommy) and Ruth Thomas; nieces and nephews James Oscar Thomas, Jr. "June", Nikki Janell Means, and Danielle Thomas; and a host of friends.
