Phillip Arnold Clay was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on April 15, 1958, to Osie Davis and Frances Clay Stevenson. He departed this life suddenly on March 18, 2018. Phillip gave his life to Christ at an early age under the direction of Rev. Barron at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. He sang in the choir and participated in church activities. Phillip graduated from Withrow High School in May 1978. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1982, learning the skill of a mechanical engineer, and received an honorable discharge in 1986. After leaving the military, he relocated to Columbus, Ohio to work for Rockwell International until the company closed. He moved forward in life into different aspects of manufacturing and HVAC work. He was employed at Cincinnati Technical College until his death for nearly fifteen years. His passions were fishing, dogs, cooking, chess, card games, movies, and dominoes. He was joined in Holy Matrimony to Ewann Quecilla Pleasant. This union was blessed with four children, Demarko, Christopher, Tyleah, and Keon. He set about teaching his children the lessons of life. He encouraged them to pursue their passions and dreams while reaching their goals. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of thirty plus years, Ewann; his sons, Christopher and Keon; daughter, Tyleah; sister, Bernita; brother, Gregory (Ozell); sisters, Gwanda, Janice Davis, Lavinia (Mack) and Helen Stevenson; mother-in-law, Mary Pleasant; four sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, thirteen grandchildren. Guardian Angel, Aunt Marita Hatcher. He leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Saturday, March 31, 2018, at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 3101 Riverside Drive, Cincinnati (45226). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery, 3117 Victory Parkway, Cincinnati, Ohio 45206.
