Peter John Linko III August 8, 1941 ~ February 5, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Peter J. Linko III, age 83, of Cincinnati, Ohio, who entered eternal rest on February 5, 2025 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was born August 8, 1941 in Englewood, New Jersey to Ann (née Cholak) and Peter J. Linko II.

Pete attended the Stevens Institute of Technology achieving a BS in Mechanical Engineering in 1963 and an MS in Metallurgy in 1966.

He married Nancy Sommer on August 22, 1964 in a beautiful ceremony at St. Mary's Church in Dumont, NJ. The couple moved to Cincinnati, Ohio for Pete to begin a career working for General Electric Aerospace as a metallurgist, retiring in 2001 followed by him working as a part-time consultant for them with total service of 42 years.  Pete was highly respected in his field; he holds nine patents for aircraft engine components. He worked on the casings of the first rockets to go to the moon and was called in to consult on the explosion of the Challenger in 1986. He loved his job. When not working, he loved golf, bridge and bowling with friends. He loved to walk on the beach at the Jersey Shore during family summer vacations and enjoyed walks in the woods.

Survived by Nancy Linko and children Kimberly Stentz and husband Andrew, Peter Linko IV and fiancée Karen Roberts, and Sara Lindeman and husband John (Jack), grandchildren Morgan, Olivia, Mitchell, Samuel, Madison, Meghan, Erin, Emma, Sean, Shannon and Eleanor, sister Carol Conboy, and numerous nephews and nieces as well as beloved in-laws Don and Jane Sommer and Bill and Kathy Sommer.

Gathering of family and friends will take place from 2pm to 2:30pm with Memorial Service from 2:30-3:30 on Friday, March 14, 2025, at the Walker Funeral Home located at 7272 Hamilton Avenue in Mt. Healthy, Ohio (45231).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
